SmartMind works with Captain’s Log Brain Games

Smart Mind is neurofeedback software that works with WaveRider Neurofeedback Equipment. SmartMind has neurofeedback games designed specifically for neurofeedback. 

Captain’s Log Brain Games provides cognitive training that can help improve attention, impulse control, memory, conceptual reasoning, and visual and auditory processing. 

SmartMind and Captain’s Log Brain Games are built on a uniform software framework, providing integrated data collection, report generation, thresholds, artifact, and adjustments for age and cognitive ability.

Combining the neurofeedback training of SmartMind, with the cognitive training of Captain’s Log Brain Games, provides complementary synergies that deepen the training process and improve mental function.

Divided Attention
The neurofeedback training provided by SmartMind directs the trainee into a receptive mental state, where they are able to learn the cognitive tasks trained by Captain’s Log Brain Games.  The combination of neurofeedback and cognitive training develops divided attention:  simultaneous awareness of two things.  The trainee is aware of the mental state being trained with SmartMind, while performing the cognitive task in Captain’s Log Brain Games.  Mental state and cognitive skills are trained simultaneously.  Divided attention is the highest level of attention in the Sohlberg and Mateer Attention Model.

Sessions of neurofeedback training are interspersed with sessions of neurofeedback combined with cognitive games.  Brainwaves are measured while the trainee is playing the game.  Feedback may be provided while gaming. Threshold levels may be adjusted during game play. Both neurofeedback and cognitive training results are saved in each trainee’s profile for review and report generation.
